Fun Friday!

Published 01/28/2011 by MoonieZ

Yes.

I’m back. Thought I’d have this done this morning but after a fun time in a chatroom, I had to rush to get ready for going to another weekly meeting. So no time to write blog posts.

Then I have been thinking about what to write for the rest of the day. Always have some idea but still find it hard to actually sit down and write. Sometimes I wish I could just transfer my thoughts onto the screen and have them appear as typed words. I always imagine the text will be much more like my thoughts that way. Nothing lost in translation between brain thinking and fingers typing it out. Sometimes the words seem to be coming straight from the heart, though. Not passing the brain at all. However to write what’s in the heart requires skills that I haven’t got. So I avoid it as much as possible. Too afraid of sounding silly.

Dinner today was simple. Grilled pork tenderloin, potatoes, mushroom sauce and carrots. Rather good for a Friday. Should have saved it for Sunday. Guess Sunday will be fish, as I have some frozen cod fillet available. Probably boil it or something.

Weather has been getting mild again. After some really cold nights. No more snow though. Which is good. I hope it starts to melt again. I wish spring would be here. Yesterday.

Soon Saturday.  Don’t know what will happen but do know I have lots of chores I ought to be doing this weekend. I wonder how many will still be left to do when Sunday evening comes along …?

Too late

Sorry, readers.

Today you’ll find another short post because I’ve almost forgotten to write one. Only got about 20 minutes to do it so it won’t be pretty like you are used to but it will have to  do.

This Saturday I woke up around 9 am. Slept good but not for long. Had breakfast, read two morning papers and then got dressed and ready to go ut to get the car ready. Went driving to take my mother to the church to light a candle at my father’s grave before going to the local grocery store for some food.

Got back home in time for some early dinner. Grilled chicken, corn, tomatoes, bread and water. Not fancy but fast and easy to make. After dinner I should have gotten some chores done but was lazy and watched TV instead while also having a peek at twitter from time to time.  Later on started listening to old favorite songs on YouTube and tweeting the links to my twitter feed. Not having much else to do because MFC kept crashing for a while. I was also drinking some guava juice and eating chips. And found some chocolate as well.

Now I’m thinking about how to end this without making it it too obvious I have no idea how to end it. Think I’ll just stop typing. How’s that ?

Hello

Sunday. Today in case you haven’t noticed is Sunday 10 October 2010. Which means that this is a day that won’t return anytime soon. Well no day ever returns. Once it passed it’s gone forever but you know what I mean. The date today is 10-10-10 which means it’s special enough to write a strange blog post about.  Now if you type “which means” one more time I’m going to be mean to you. Is that a fact. That is a fact. I see…. better behave myself then. Wouldn’t that be nice. For you perhaps. Not for me though. May I ask why not ? No you may not because if I answer that this post will be completely derailed. Is that a fact ? Yes.

Got up early, read the morning paper, wondered why I had a morning wood when I had no use for it and started to make some breakfast. Stop ! What is it now ? That’s a lie. What is ? You didn’t wake up early, you didn’t have a morning … whatever … and you didn’t make any breakfast. I did make breakfast – I had one sandwich and a glass of plain water. But what about the rest ? What about it ? It’s not true. Have you heard of artistic freedom ? Yes. Good. Case closed.

So here I was on a fine, sunny and warm Sunday morning …. Stop Stop Stop ! What is it now ? More lies. They are not lies. I told you. Now behave. Where was I ? Oh yes – a fine Sunday morning. I got ready to have few laps in the pool when the phone rang. My brother calling to tell me he’d gotten back from his recent trip across the ocean.  I was very pleased to know it had been a nice flight and that everything was ok.  After the phone call I jumped in the pool and swam for a half hour. Later – after having had a shower and a shave I got dressed and started cleaning out the basement and the downstairs bathroom. This kept me busy until dinner time when I went upstairs to fry some pork chops and heat some fries in the oven.

After dinner I went for a drive to the local supermarket to get some vanilla sauce for the apple pie my mother had made on this fine Sunday morning. There’s nothing that tastes as good as homemade apple pie. Nothing. Are you sure ?  It’s you again … why can’t you just shut up ? I would if you let me. What do you mean ? You’re the one making me speak. I am not. Yes you are, you’re typing this aren’t you ? Well … yes but that’s only way to let the readers know what I writing. You have readers ? Don’t start that again … Yes I do have readers. Whatever.

Right. In the evening I went to watch the latest news on Twitter, looked at profiles on MFC, read email, wrote some emails, tweeted and looked at information related to the job training starting tomorrow. Also looked through ads for jobs in the morning paper and online. Then decided to write a blog post. And here it is. Next I will probably go to bed and get some sleep. My alarm will wake me up very early tomorrow. I will miss not seeing my new friend tonight but I will have to survive without . Hope it will be a nice and fun evening for her everyone else there  anyway. Well I know it will be of course because it always is.

So, I’m done for today.

Peace.

Tonight I saw someone I haven’t seen for  while and that made me happy. Earlier today I spent a lot of time with someone else I hadn’t seen for a long time. That also made me happy. Tomorrow or later today i will see yet another someone I haven’t seen in a while. I’ll be happy then too.

In the evening I watched TV. It was the last show of a celebrity dance competition: Let’s Dance. The winner was a well known chef who also have hosted her own TV cooking show: Tina Nordström.

My mother’s birthday

Published 03/19/2008 by MoonieZ

Hi everyone!

Today is my mother’s birthday. I won’t say here how old she is now, because it is not what matters most. What matters is that she is healthy for her age and still can manage most if not all daily routines by herself.

It started early in the afternoon with the first guests arriving. I had also just arrived bringing with me a birthday cake, which was also my birthday present for my mother. It was a nice chocolate and cream cake, made fresh from the local bakery.

Anyway soon after I arrived, the first guests also arrived. It was my mothers longtime friend and her husband. After sitting down a short time for some coffee, cake and conversation with them, more guests arrived. This time my uncle, his wife and my aunt. So more coffee, more cake and even more conversation. Then there were some flowers delivered and later on we started to get the table set for dinner.

There was salmon, both smoked and bolied, and boiled ham, vegetables, salads, bread, cheese and different beverages. While we were eating more guests arrived at the door. First, two of my cousins and shortly after one of my nephews. So we made place for them at the table and while they had some food, the other guests had coffee. And above all there was conversation. So all in all a good party that I am sure my mother enjoyed very much. It was a happy day for everyone. Only people missing were my brothers, neither were able to attend.

Over and Out!
